grace
The workout choice of dancers, gymnast and fitness enthusiasts for more than 80 years, Pilates is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace, and skill that will be reflected in the way you walk, play and work. You will develop muscular power with endurance, the ability to perform demanding tasks, to play strenuous games, to walk, run or travel long distances without fatigue or mental strain.
Pilates is also the best course of action post-injury. It continues strengthening repaired muscles and creates efficient movement patterns, maintaining your recovery.
Gym clothes that give you freedom of movement and aren't too heavy or baggy are ideal. Be aware, exercise tights can be sheer when stretched leaving you unwittingly exposed.
We don't wear shoes in Pilates, so a pair of socks (especially ones with grippy soles) can make your practice extra comfortable. Also, try not to eat less than an hour before our session.
One-on-one - Nothing bets one-on-one attention. These sessions can be intense as there is nowhere to hide! Together, we'll find those muscles in your core that can be a little resistant to activating. Not having to share your instructor means getting great results faster.
When your body is in balance and cared for, it is a great space in which to reside. You move with efficiency, which means you don't get as tired or store as much tension. Correct posture becomes habitual, so you're not weighed down by discomfort. It frees up your energy so you're more relaxed, creative and productive, which means feeling happier and more resilient overall.
By acquiring control of your own body on both a conscious and subconscious level, you will have an increased resilience to illness and injury. When you learn to move with control from your centre, safe and agile movement becomes innate..
Cats don’t worry about straining a muscle or being too tired to move.
